All images are scanned using a Hewlett Packard ScanJet 4100C flatbed scanner, and saved as compressed J-Peg's using Adobe PhotoShop. I experimented with different compression ratios and J-Peg types and found I could compress the images suffiently to make the file size small giving fast download times, without compromising quality.

HTML Design and Browser Compatibility

When designing the web pages I do not use any design software. Instead I learned HTML by looking at the source code of different pages and working out how things were done. I have designed the pages so that they look the same viewed with any browser - new or old.
I have used some JavaScript on some pages and have found that the JavaScript is best inplemented by Netscape browsers, Microsoft Explorer 3.02 does not fully support JavaScript.

One important aspect of viewing photographs on your monitor is Gamma Correction. Gamma Correction ensures that the brightness and contrast of images appear as they were intended.
